Completion of CryptoZombies

I worked through a variety of different solidity dapp tutorials this week, and completed the rest of Loom’s CryptoZombies.io. However, I have to gripe about darth of great resources for learning this technology. Tutorials seem to commonly place the primary focus on either the abstract concepts of smart contracts, or the vagaries of working with particular frameworks, stopping short of the practical approaches to dapp development that would be more helpful.

Hugo was a bright spot though; after some digging, I was able to solve the mystery of ignored markdown formatting and pictures that failed to appear from the main view of my blog.

I started with Dapp University’s Ultimate Ethereum Dapp Tutorial - (tweet).

Followed up with a deep dive on Getting Started With Drizzle and React.

Drizzle is a new way of interacting with smart-contracts that’s built with Reactive web applications in mind.

Solidity and the Harvard CS50 Fair

This week in development hailed completion of the second and third levels of my blockchain Zombie Army on CryptoZombies.io. I learned truckloads about the high-level smart contract development language Solidity, and am optimistically considering the idea of building a project to demo these newly acquired abilities.

Additionally, I got the chance to speak with Google and Microsoft representatives at the Harvard CS50 Fair in Cambridge!
